What a beautiful sunny day today, time to rake the leaves, clean up the yard, clean out the garage and get ready for the snow. Many of my friends and neighbours have talked about putting up Christmas lights. Certainly taking advantage of the nice weather is a good idea, but please don't put them on yet. Mighty surprised to see driving around how many have actually turned them on. We might try to get our lights up tomorrow, Then we can be ready for our time to turn on which is after December 1st.

H1N1 - "What should we do?"
Do we get this shot or not? The Health unit has been spending excess amount of money tring to advertise (Newspaper, TV commercials, and fliers to our homes) to us that we should "protect ourselves from the H1N1 virus". This just doesn't sound like a full proof statement - it doesn't say that we won't get it. I am all about protection! Insurance, Bullet proof vest, Condoms. But they are not full proof.
As a family we have been getting the flu shot every year for at least the last 8 years, at the beginning some clinics would try to turn my little one's away (maybe when they were 3). But after one horrible year of everyone sick with a really bad flu, I was sold on the flu shot - cleaning up 3 little people - no longer in diapers, but not making it to the bathroom, while both my husband and I were also sick was nuts. So I would like the regular flu shot, information says that we can not get that shot until we get the H1N1 shot first.
Okay so if we decide we want the flu shot, here is my big problem my husband commutes to down town Toronto for work. Like many of the other people around simcoe, we are a "bedroom community". Here is the kicker - York, Peel and other boards have already been giving out the shot. Up here in Simcoe the first clinic is November 4th!!!! He could catch it and bring it home. At this point I know it is only a few days, but that means everyone in Simcoe county will be there - because no one here has a family doctor!
Am I the only one fumed and not sure about this whole thing? Let me know...
